OUR LAND, OUR HERITAGE
Community projects
In every coffee farm owned by Chantuc, there exists a school, a clinic and a sports facility for the use of all workers and their children.

Our Actions
The coffee culture embedded within the workers of the farms has been a key factor of the business ethics for Chantuc.
Here are some of the actions we take towards sustainability.
DIRECT TRADE
Direct relationship with coffee buyers, with constant and transparent communication. This paves for quality improvements and further innovations; consistent process and stable revenues.
SHADE-GROWN COFFEE
Is an efficient and sustainable way to manage coffee, where less fertilizers are required, more organic material is utilized; Inga type pepeto trees, known for their large leaves, provides a canopy for our ecosystem.
HEALTH PROJECTS
We provide a clinic, medicines and health services for all community use; furthermore, we do yearly programs for eye and other necessary examinations and medical programs.
JOB SECURITY
Over the past 10 years, Chantuc has provided stable job conditions for their workers: 10 full-time employees on Social Security and Pension plans, 45 permanent workers, 100+ pickers for the harvest and we provide daily meals and housing.
EDUCATION
Computer donations, renewable energy installation for electricity, and school improvements, plus a playground donation for the community. Other programs include: Christmas toy drive and Canastas donations for all Chantuc employees and family members.
LAND MANAGEMENT
We develop an annual fertilization program based on the nutritional needs of the soil and foliage, providing the plant both organic and chemical fertilizers, coffee pulp and N-P-K formula. We use minimum to no herbicides or pesticides.
